How to Measure Your Head for the Perfect Wig Fit
Choosing the correct wig cap size is one of the most important steps when purchasing a wig. A properly fitted wig will feel more comfortable, look more natural, and provide greater security throughout the day.
At Glam Bar Beauty, our ready-to-wear wigs are typically made in a medium cap size, which fits most women. However, we also offer custom sizing to help ensure the best possible fit.
What Wig Cap Size Do I Need?
As a general guide:
| Cap Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| Small | 21" – 22" |
| Medium | 22" – 23" |
| Large | 23" – 23.5" |
Our standard wig size is a Medium (22"–23"), which comfortably fits most customers.
What You'll Need
To measure your head accurately, you'll need:
-
A flexible measuring tape
-
A mirror (optional)
-
A hair tie if you have long hair
Before measuring, ensure your hair is as flat as possible. If you have long or thick hair, tie it back or braid it down to achieve the most accurate measurement.
Your measurement is your head circumference and will determine your wig cap size.
Top Tip
Avoid pulling the measuring tape too tightly. The tape should sit comfortably against your head without squeezing, otherwise your wig may feel too tight when worn.
For the most accurate result, we recommend measuring twice and using the average measurement if there is any variation.
Why Does Wig Size Matter?
A wig that is too small can feel uncomfortable and place unnecessary tension on your hairline. A wig that is too large may shift, require additional adjustments, or fail to sit securely.
Taking a few minutes to measure your head correctly can make a significant difference to the comfort, fit, and overall appearance of your wig.
